Viticulture - The Art of Growing Wine Grapes

Viticulture is everything that embodies the art and science of growing wine grapes. This includes everything from pest control, monitoring for diseases in the plants, fertilization, irrigating fields, managing the canopy of grapes, and keeping watch on the fruit.

Viticulturists are closely tied to the wine making industry since this is the beginning of a great wine. Viticulture has a rich history, dating back to the Neolithic period. The methods became more sophisticated over time, with a 28 volume series written by Mago approximately 500 BC. During the Middle Ages, the monks were most common the viticulturists of the period.
